Progressive Die Stamping of Rocker Panel for the Automotive Industry

Spartanburg Steel Products progressive die stamped this featured rocker panel for a client in the automotive industry. Throughout stamping, we held a linear tolerance of +/- 0.5 mm, a radius tolerance of +/- 1 mm, and an angular tolerance of +/- 3 degrees. We stamped the rocker panel in one, complete operation, including 3 holes (LH) and 5 holes (RH) into the material, and complex geometry. We conducted full, dimensional inspection and visual inspection, as well as first piece approval, making sure the part conformed to standards determined by the customer-supplied print and 3D CAD drawing. After surpassing our client's expectations, we packaged and delivered the rocker panel.
